Inscribed photograph signed: "Thank you/ Charles Devine/ All best wishes/ to you!/ Martha Scott/ 6/20/1985" in black ink. B/w, 8x10. Martha Scott (1912-2003) debuted on Broadway in Our Town (1938), and won an Oscar nomination for the same performance on film (1940). In 1941 she earned plaudits for One Foot in Heaven and Cheers for Miss Bishop. Scott played Charlton Heston's mother in both The Ten Commandments (1956) and Ben Hur (1959). More such roles followed on TV, as Bob's mom on The Bob Newhart Show (1972-1977) and Lindsay Wagner's on The Bionic Woman (1975-1977). Other TV performances included a recurring guest role on Dallas (1979-1985). Ink notes on verso in unknown hand. Fine condition.
