MARTHA TILTON (1915-2006) was a talented big band singer with the Benny
Goodman orchestra. She had singing roles in several films of the 1940s and
The Benny Goodman Story (1955). Her best known song, "And the Angels
Sing", was recorded with the Goodman Orchestra in 1939. EDDIE MILLER
(1911-1991) played sax and clarinet with major orchestras, including Bob
Crosby's in the 1930s. He performed with Pete Fountain in New Orleans
(1967-1976). His preferred genres were swing and Dixieland. A talented
songwriter, Miller penned the classic "Slow Mood". George R. Sanders,
originally a disc jockey, became a prominent radio/TV interview host, first in
Los Angeles and later in Portland. Verso slightly soiled, with ink smudges in
upper right. Fragment of another inscription (unknown hand) at lower edge.
