MARTIN & LEWIS: DEAN MARTIN and JERRY LEWIS
This contract was signed by both Martin and Lewis in 1950. It's an amendment to a 1948 contract that the comedy duo signed with Wallis-Hazen, Inc., which produced four Martin & Lewis movies in the early 1950s.
Contract signed "Dean Martin" and "Jerry Lewis". Also signed by a representative of Wallis-Hazen, Inc. 1 page, 8¼x10. June 15, 1950. This contract is an amendment to a Sept. 1, 1948 contract that the comedy pair had signed with Wallis-Hazen, Inc. Wallis-Hazen produced four Martin & Lewis movies: My Friend Irma Goes West (1950), That's My Boy (1951), Sailor Beware (1952) and The Stooge (1952). After meeting in Atlantic City in 1946, singer MARTIN (1917-1995, born Dino Paul Crocetti in Steubenville, Ohio) and comedian LEWIS, born Joseph Levitch in Newark, New Jersey in 1926, formed a partnership. With Martin singing and Lewis clowning, the team enjoyed enormous popularity in live performances, on television and in 16 films before they broke up in 1956. Each pursued a successful career thereafter, Martin as a singer, actor, TV host and nightclub entertainer; Lewis as a comedian and the host of muscular dystrophy telethons. Lightly toned and creased. Small tear on right edge. Stained in lower right corner. Otherwise in fine condition.
