Photograph Signed: "Best Wishes/Thank you/Mary Carlisle" in black felt tip.8x10. Color. Mary Carlisle(1912-2018) broke into film in 1930, playing leading roles from 1933 until she retired ten years later. Alternating between starring and supporting roles, Carlisle was the love interest of Bing Crosby in 3 films (College Humor,1933; Double or Nothing, 1937; and Dr. Rhythm, 1938). After leaving films she managed the Elizabeth Arden salon in Beverly Hills. On February 8, 1960 she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and with the deaths of Gloria Stuart and Barbara Kent, Carlisle became the only surviving "WAMPAS Baby Star". Mary Carlisle is the model for the heroine, Starshine Hart, in Jacobo Appel's novel, The Biology of Luck (2013). Fine condition.
