Third person autograph note. In full: "with Mrs. Molesworth's/ kind regards" in black ink. 4½x2¼ card, affixed to piece of white paper. Mary Louisa Molesworth (1839-1921) was an English author of children's stories who wrote under the name of "Mrs. Molesworth". Considered the "Jane Austen of the nursery", Molesworth is best known for her story The Carved Lions (1895) which is considered her masterpiece; she also has written Tell Me a Story (1875), Carrots (1876), The Cuckoo Clock (1877), The Tapestry Room (1879) and A Christmas Child (1880). She wrote books for late Victorian-era girls who were too old for fairies and princesses but too young for Austen and Brontes. Irregularly cut. Very toned. Stained throughout. Edges slightly frayed. Frayed and torn on verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
