otherwise in fine condition. Martin (1913-1990, born in Weatherford,
Texas) won Tony Awards for Best Actress for South Pacific (1950),
Peter Pan (1955) and The Sound of Music (1960) and was
nominated a fourth time for I Do! I Do! (1967). She also won a special
Tony award for the national tour of Annie Get Your Gun (1948). Martin
reprised her most famous role, the title character in Peter Pan, for
television. Martin was married to Richard Halliday, who produced her Peter
Pan and Sound of Music, from 1940 until his death in 1973. She is the
mother of actors Heller Halliday and, by a previous marriage, Larry
Hagman.
