MARY SMALL and GARDNAR MULLOY Signatures from "the little girl with the big voice" and the tennis hall of famer penned on this yellow album leaf Signatures: "Mary Small" on front and "G Mulloy" on verso, both in blue ink, 4½x3. MARY SMALL (1922-2007), discovered by Rudy Vallée, sang frequently on radio from the age of 11, billed as "the little girl with the big voice." She was seen frequently on the TV variety shows of the early 1950s, including the programs of Milton Berle and Ed Sullivan. After divorcign film and TV theme composer Vic Mizzy (Green Acres, The Addams Family), she continued to perform in night clubs through the 1970s. Tennis legend Mulloy (1913-2016) has won 127 national championships and 25 international championships, including five Grand Slam titles. From the late 1930s through the 1950s, he was ranked in the "Top 10" U.S. singles 14 times, and Mulloy also won four U.S. doubles titles (1942, 1945, 1946, 1948) with Bill Talbert and the 1957 Wimbledon doubles title (with Budge Patty) and came in second at Wimbledon with Ted Schroeder and Tom Brown. The Captain of two of the seven U.S. Davis Cup teams on which he played, Mulloy has won titles at every age level since he turned 45 and was still playing in tournaments at age 90. A decorated WWII veteran, Mulloy, who has also written books on tennis, was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 1972. Toned. Left edge frayed from binding. Ink lightly smeared, but legible. Ink notes (unknown hand) dating signatures on both front and verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
