Photograph signed: "Matt Dillon". Color, 8x10. Depicted in his role as sleazy private investigator Pat Healy in the 1998 comedy, There's Something About Mary. With gross receipts of $176.8 million, the film was 20th Century Fox's third highest grossing comedy of all time (behind Home Alone and Mrs. Doubtfire). In 1998, Dillon also appeared in the feature film, Wild Things, and was seen on the small screen as a presenter on The 70th Annual Academy Awards, on the TV special, Reel Comedy: Something About Mary, and as a guest on Late Night With Conan O'Brien. Best known early in his career for playing troubled youth, actor Matt Dillon (born in 1964) made his film debut in Over the Edge (1979), followed by such other youth-oriented outings as Tex (1982), The Outsiders (1983) and Rumble Fish (1983). He made his first adult action film, Target, in 1985, and followed his success with such films as Drugstore Cowboy (1989), Crash (2004) and Herbie: Fully Loaded (2005) in addition to There's Something About Mary, which co-starred Cameron Diaz, whom Dillon dated during the late 1990s. Dillon has also written and directed a feature film (City of Ghosts, 2002) and directed an episode of the TV series, Oz (1999), and he has been seen on a number of TV talk shows, from The Late Show With David Letterman (1993) to The Oprah Winfrey Show (2005). Minor surface creases (not evident head on). Pencil note (unknown hand) on verso (no show through). Fine condition.
