The actor signs in the margin of this lobby card for the 1985 film Ladyhawke
Lobby Card signed: "Matthew Broderick" in blue ink, color, 14x11 overall, image 14x10 (one
surface). Promotion for the 1985 fantasy, Ladyhawke, in which Broderick starred as
pickpocket Phillipe Gaston, the human liaison between two lovers (Rutger Hauer as Etienne
Navarre, who becomes a wolf by night as a result of a curse, and Michelle Pfeiffer as Isabeau,
who becomes a hawk by day). The film was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Sound

Broderick (b. 1962) found success on Broadway before making his film debut in WarGames
in 1983, which happened to be same year he won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor
in a Play for Brighton Beach Memoirs. He also happened to win the Theatre World Award
for the previously mentioned performance. Broderick would go on to win another Tony in
1985 for How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, and be nominated in 2001
for The Producers. Known for his boyish good looks, Broderick became a bona fide film
star thanks to Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986), and he has since appeared in films such as
Glory (1989), The Lion King (1994), Inspector Gadget (1999), and You Can Count on Me
(2000). He has been married to actress Sarah Jessica Parker since 1997. Lightly creased.
