Opera House, Covent Garden [London], 1965 July 23. To "Dear Mr.
Jones", in full: "Thanks for your most kind letter. Enclosed is a
signed photograph of myself. [Item not included.] My husband and I are
just off on a very much needed holiday and we shall try and find some wholesome
Italian sunshine. With best wishes". English mezzo-soprano opera and
concert performer Maureen Guy has sung with Britain's Royal Opera,
the Scottish and Welsh operas, and many others. In 1985 she made the first of
her many praised Wagner recordings, and she recorded works of Verdi in
2003. Guy is married to fellow opera talent John Mitchison since 1958. Normal
