Document: "Maureen O'Sullivan", 1 page (front and verso), 8½x11. Hollywood, California, 1957 March 7. Standard AFTRA television contract. O'Sullivan agrees to appear on the CBS TV program Climax, sponsored by Chrysler, on March 21, 1957, with "reasonable time and hours" stipulated for rehearsal, as determined by the Producer. She is to be paid $2,500 for the performance. Signed on front, also initialed twice "MO'S" on two riders attached on front. One rider (1p, 8½x3) promises her "third star billing." The other (1p, 8½x6¾) stipulates additional payments for successive replays. Irish actress O'Sullivan (1911-1998) starred in such films as A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court (1931), The Barretts of Wimpole Street (1934), David Copperfield (1935), A Day at the Races (1937) and Pride and Prejudice (1941). She played Jane to Johnny Weissmuller's Tarzan in six films (1932-1942), creating quite a sensation with her scanty apparel and nude swimming scene in Tarzan and His Mate (1934). Married to director John Farrow until his death in 1963, she is the mother of actresses Mia and Tisa Farrow. She portrayed Mia's mom on film in Hannah and Her Sisters (1986). A frequent TV guest star in the 1950s, she co-anchored Today (1964-1965). O'Sullivan appeared three times on the multi-Emmy winning Climax Mystery Theater between 1955 and 1957. Staples attach riders at left edge. Slightly creased. Otherwise, fine condition.
