Signature: "Maurice Denham" in pencil, 5x3¼ sheet of paper. English actor Maurice Denham (1909-2002) was born in Beckenham, Kent. He got his start in entertainment on the radio but moved on to appearing in films and television. Some of his best known films include The Purple Plain (1954), Sunday Bloody Sunday (1971), The Day of the Jackal (1973) and 84 Charing Cross Road (1987). He was nominated for a British Academy of Film and Television Arts Award for Best Actor for his role as Blore in The Purple Plain (1954). He also appeared in dozens of television programs during his 60 year acting career, most notably Sherlock Holmes (1965), Theatre 625 (1966-1968), The Lotus Eaters (1972-1973), The Professionals (1978) and Inspector Morse (1991). Denham also appeared in a four part episode of the classic British television series Doctor Who, titled "The Twin Dilemma". Irregularly cut at edges. Slightly creased. Otherwise, fine condition.
