Rare signature from the Playboy lawyer and award nominated
producer
Signature: "Maurice Rosenfield", in blue ink, 9¾x2. Once a
lawyer for Playboy during it's earliest years, Maurice Rosenfield
(1914-2005) became a successful stage and film producer, beginning with his
establishment of Rosenfield Productions with his wife, Lois, in 1972.
Their first film effort, Bang the Drum Slowly, helped introduce a
young Robert De Niro to a wider audience, and was nominated for an Oscar for
co-star Vincent Gardenia's performance. Though Rosenfield would producer one
more film in 1983, he found more success on stage, producing several Broadway
plays from 1979 to 1993. Two of his plays, Barnum (1980) and
The Song of Jacob Zhu (1993), were nominated for Tonys. Toned.
