Maximilian Adalbert Baer, Jr. in 1937) is best known for his role as Jethro Bodine on the
hit TV series, The Beverly Hillbillies (1962-1971). Baer, who also played Jethrene
Bodine on the show from 1962-1963, became so typecast in the role that he was unable
to find work for three years after the series ended. He finally returned to the screen in
Macon County Line (1974), a film that he co-wrote and produced. The son of former
heavyweight boxing champion Max Baer, he had made his acting debut in 1960, guest
starring on such TV series as Hawaiian Eye, Maverick and Surfside 6 that year. Baer has also
appeared in made-for-TV movies and guest starred on a number of other shows. Also a
director as well as producer and writer, Baer began investigating the gaming business and
purchased licensing rights for The Beverly Hillbillies name and characters, and plans
to build a theme casino in Carson Valley, Nevada. Character actor BO HOPKINS
(1942-2022) was already a veteran of many TV episodes, especially Westerns in the late
1960s and crime dramas in the 1970s, when he was cast in two cult movies of 1973: as
Burt Reynolds' sidekick in White Lightning and the leader of a street gang ("the
Pharaohs") in American Graffiti. His recent feature films include The Road Home (2003)
and Open Window (2006). JOHN ASTON (1948-2024) is an American actor, best known
for his roles in director Martin Brest's film Beverley Hills Cop (1984) and Midnight Run
(1988). He has appeared on television in popular series such as M*A*S*H (1977), Dallas
(1978-1979), Columbo (1974) and Police Squad (1982). Fine condition.
