Max Kampelman (1920-2013) was an American diplomat, lawyer and expert on political science. He served as Ambassador to the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe (1980-1983), Ambassador and Head of the United States Delegations to the Negotiations with the Soviet Union on Nuclear and Space Arms in Geneva from 1985-1989; and as Counselor to the United States Department of State from 1987-1989. In 1989 he received the Presidential Citizens Medal from President Ronald Reagan. Adhesive tape at corners and edges on verso. Ink notes (unknown hand) on verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
