This 1964 movie was based on the TV series McHale's Navy, which ran on ABC from 1962 to 1966. The TV show was set on a South Pacific Island for its first three seasons and in Italy for its last season. ERNEST BORGNINE (1917-2012), who won the 1955 Academy Award for Best Actor for the title role in Marty, played the eponymous Lt. Commander Quinton McHale. TIM CONWAY played Ensign Charles Parker. CARL BALLANTINE played Torpedo man Lester Gruber. GARY VINSON played Quartermaster George "Christy" Christopher. EDSON STROLL played Gunner's Mate Virgil Edwards. GAVIN McLEOD played Seaman Joseph "Happy" Haines. The series was nominated for five Emmy Awards, with acting nominations for Borgnine and Conway in 1963. Lightly toned and creased. Light chip at top edge. Lightly rounded and worn bottom left edge. Adhesive residue on verso (no show-through). Otherwise, fine condition.
