Signed script for a commercial for Parent's Choice Magazine, featuring voice actor Mel Blanc in his own voice and the voice of Daffy Duck
Script signed "Mel Blanc". Black ink notations and underlinings in unknown hand. 1 pages, 8½x11. Script for a commercial for Parent's Choice Magazine. Blanc used his own voice for this script as well as that of Daffy Duck... or, as it says in this script, "Daffy-Good-to-His Mother Duck". Blanc (1908-1989), who would become known as "The Man of 1,000 Voices", began his radio career in 1927. In 1933, he was hired as a musician on NBC radio. Blanc was a regular on such radio series as The Abbott and Costello Show and The Burns and Allen Show, and he had his own comedy show on CBS radio from 1946-1947. He was also a regular on Jack Benny's radio and television programs, where his characters included Benny's violin teacher and the sound of Benny's sputtering Maxwell automobile. Blanc, who is best known for his cartoon voices, can be heard in thousands of animated productions as the voice of Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Daffy Duck, Tweety, Sylvester and others. Ironically, the man who created the voice of carrot-chomping Bugs Bunny in 1940, was allergic to carrots. Rust stain in top left corner. Lightly worn in corners. Otherwise in fine condition.
