FERRER (1917-2008, born Elberon, New Jersey) was an American actor, director and producer. Ferrer worked in summer stock from the age of 15 and became a chorus dancer on Broadway in 1938 before making his film debut in 1947's The Fugitive (he had directed his first film, Girl of the Limberlost, two years earlier). Ferrer, whose film credits include Lili (1953), War and Peace (1956), The Sun Also Rises (1957), The World, the Flesh and the Devil (1959), The Longest Day (1962), Sex and the Single Girl (1964), El Greco (1966) and Brannigan (1975), also appeared in made-for-TV movies and miniseries, and he made guest starring appearances on a number of TV series. Ferrer is best known to TV audiences for his recurring role as Phillip Erikson (1981-1984) on Falcon Crest. He also directed both TV series and feature films, produced several films and made-for-TV movies, and was a writer. Ferrer was married to actress Audrey Hepburn (1954-1968); the couple had one son, Sean H. Ferrer. British conductor SARGENT (1895-1967) led and toured with British orchestras from the 1920s through the 1960s, introducing a number of concert "firsts" and becoming known as the "Ambassador of Music". Sargent, who was the Music Director of the Courtaul-Sargent Concerts from 1929-1940, also directed Manchester's Hallé Orchestra (1939-1942), the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra (1942-1948) and the BBC Symphony Orchestra (1950-1957). From 1948 until his death, he was in charge of the Proms, the world-famous London Promenade Concerts. Lightly creased. Minor show through of writing. Binding holes at blank left edge. Otherwise in fine condition.
