Directory photo signed: "Melville Cooper", "Robert Coote", "Henry Corden", "Wm Cottrell", 7½x11 (front and verso). British-born stage and screen actor MELVILLE COOPER (1896-1973) played second leads in several films of the late 1930s and early 1940s, and character roles thereafter. A peak year for Cooper was 1938, when he appeared with Errol Flynn and Basil Rathbone in two hit films: Dawn Patrol and The Adventures of Robin Hood (as the Sheriff of Nottingham). He appeared frequently in TV plays of the 1950s. Cooper also appeared in almost 20 Broadway productions between 1935 and 1970. English stage and screen actor ROBERT COOTE (1909-1982) was usually cast by Hollywood as an aristocrat or British military type. He played Sergeant Higgenbotham in Gunga Din (1939), and Aramis in The Three Musketeers (1948). He interrupted his film career to serve as a squadron leader in the Canadian Air Force in World War II. Coote originated the role of Colonel Pickering in the original Broadway production of My Fair Lady (1956). His last feature film appearance was as one of the critics murdered by Vincent Price in Theatre of Blood (1973). He had a recurring role in the TV detective series Nero Wolfe (1981). Although actor HENRY CORDEN (1920-2005) had a successful on camera acting career in his own right, he is best known for his voice acting, voicing Fred Flinstone after the death of original voice actor Alan Reed. His career as Fred Flinstone lasted 23 years, beginning with the 1977 special A Flinstone Christmas and continuing until his last voice acting credit in 2000 in the Flintstones Bedrock Bowling video game. In addition to his role as Fred, Corden voiced several other Hanna-Barbera cartoons, including The Jetsons, Josie and the Pussycats, and Johnny Quest. WILLAIM COTTRELL (1918-2001) made his acting debut in 1948 with The Naked City, but first found success with his role in Julius Caesar. It was during his early television and film career that he also appeared in several Broadway productions, including Six Characters in Search of an Author (1955), Measure for Measure (1957), and The Taming of the Shrew (1957). He later landed a recurring role in the series version of Naked City, as the lab tech Freddie. His last role came in the 1981 television movie Killing at Hell's Gate. Irregular left edge. Toned. Corners slightly worn and creased. Slight surface creases. Otherwise, fine condition.
