Printed Photograph Signed in Ink: "Menahem/Golan", B/w 10x8. The Israeli producer, write, actor, and director Menahem Golan (1929-2014) started out at the Habima Theater in Tel Aviv as an apprentice, and eventually worked his way up to a position as Roger Corman's assistant. Since his humble beginnings as an apprentice, Golan has produced well over two-hundred titles, and has directed another forty-five. He is probably most well known for his 1977 film Operation Thunderbolt, which earned him an Oscar nomination for Best Foreign Language Film. He spearheaded a production company named The Cannon Group that produced a long list of films until eventually being bought out by Pathe Communications. Some fans might know Golan better from the comic-book style movies he produced in the 1980s including Masters of the Universe (1987). Eventually, Golan produced multiple films as the head of the 21st Century Film Corporation. Golan continues to work in the film industry. Slightly bowed. Otherwise, fine condition.
