Document signed: "Merv Griffin", 1 page, 8½x11. New York, N.Y., 1954 April 27. Griffin

extending his contract with the company for an additional year, beginning May 29, 1954.
Singer, band leader, actor and talk show host Merv Griffin (1925-2007) launched The Merv
Griffin Show, a daily hour-long NBC talk show, in 1962, beginning his long foray into the
chat-show world. He voluntarily called it quits in 1986. That same year, Griffin sold his
Merv Griffin Enterprises to Coca-Cola for a whopping $250 million. The enterprise
included two of TV's most popular game shows, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, which
he created (and for which he retained a portion of the profits). After retiring from the small
screen, Griffin became a real estate mogul, acquiring the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills and
several other hotels. Staple holes at upper left margin. Horizontal fold creases. Right edge
chipped with ¼" piece missing at center. Lower edge creased at right. Otherwise, fine condition.
