MERV GRIFFIN - PHOTOGRAPH UNSIGNED - HFSID 276546
Price: $20.00
MERV GRIFFIN. Photograph unsigned. B/w, 3¾x4¾. Singer, band
leader, actor and talk show host Merv Griffin (1925-2007) launched The
Merv Griffin Show, a daily hour-long NBC talk show, in 1962, beginning
his long foray into the chat-show world. He voluntarily called it quits in 1986.
That same year, Griffin sold his Merv Griffin Enterprises to Coca-Cola for a
whopping $250 million. The enterprise included two of TV's most popular
game shows, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, which he created (and
for which he retained a portion of the profits). After retiring from the
small screen, Griffin became a real estate mogul, acquiring the Beverly Hilton
in Beverly Hills and several other hotels. Fine condition.
