Sorry to hear about Joe's problems, but hope he is on the mend by now. Glad to hear you doing well with your hip replacement. Should you need any physical therapy, I can heartily recommend the Magee Rehabilitation Hospital. They are wonderful. ... Good news! I took my driving test at Moss Rehab, and I passed it! They feel that I can drive with regular equipment, and that I won't need any manual steering break equipment. ... I received your order for the 'other three books'. The Rape of Wrath was written by me under a pseudonym (J. Ross Donahue) after my three sons in law. ... There is a lot of S-E-X in it, so Rhoda asked me to use a pseudonym. Bumper Snickers was a joint effort between me and Dr. Marv Herring (who interned at Mount Sinai Hospital). Good Manners was written in 1929, as a serious guide to good manners, but in today's climate it really comes out being funny. It is the only one of the four books that I didn't write. I hope you enjoy them all. Let me have the benefit of your 'Review' of them, after you've finished reading them. ..." Dr. Meyer L. Abrams (d. 2004) was a general surgeon practicing in the Philadelphia area. In retirement, he wrote the two humorous books he cites here, as well as Birth of a Hospital (1993), his account of the founding (under his direction) of the Rancocas Valley Hospital in Willingborn, New Jersey. When Abrams couldn't find publishers for one of his texts, he established his own company, Aardvark Publishing, to release them. Multiple mailing folds. Fine condition.
