Photograph signed "Best Wishes/Michael Caine". Blue ink notations on verso in unknown hand. B/w, 8x9¾ overall, 7¼x8½ image, one surface. Caine, born Maurice Joseph Micklewhite, Jr. in 1933, was the epitome of British cool in the 1960s. He's won Oscars as Best Supporting Actor for Hannah and Her Sisters (1986) and The Cider House Rules (1999). His other impressive screen credits include Zulu (1964), Alfie (1966), Sleuth (1972), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), Educating Rita (1983) The Quiet American (2002), as well portraying author Len Deighton's British spy Harry Palmer in The IPCRESS File (1965), Funeral in Berlin (1966) and Billion Dollar Brain (1967). He's appeared most recently as former activist and dope farmer Jasper in Children of Men (2006) and as Bruce Wayne's sardonic butler Albert Pennyworth in Batman Begins (2005) and The Dark Knight (2008). Caine was knighted in 1993. Light scratch near top edge (barely visible head-on). Otherwise in fine condition.
