married from 1939 until Denison's death in 1998, performed in 26 stage productions
together, including Candida and An Ideal Husband). Gray, born Dulcie Winifred Catherine
Bailey in Kuala Lumpur, Malaya (now Malaysia), made her film debut in 1942, and she had
appeared in ten films before being cast with her husband in My Brother Jonathan in 1948.
Their popularity soared after the pairing, and both Denison and Gray appeared in a number of
feature films, TV miniseries and as guest stars on TV shows (Gray's last TV appearance was on
Doctors in 2000). She has also written plays and authored 24 books, primarily crime novels,
and her short story, "The Fur Brooch", was the basis for an episode of Rod Serling's Night
Gallery in 1972. Denison, who had also served in British Intelligence during WWII, and
Gray were honored on an episode of This is Your Life in 1995. Lightly creased with folds,
lower horizontal fold underlines Denison's signature. Fine condition.
