MICHAEL DENISON AND DULCIE GRAY
The actor and actress signs a card
Autograph note signed: "With my our best wish/Dulcie Gray/Michael Denison", 6¾x4½. Britain's No. 1 Man + Wife Team: Dulcie Gray + Mike Denison. British stage, screen and television actor Michael Denison (1915-1998) is most closely associated with his wife, British actress Dulcie Gray, with whom he appeared in several films and on stage (the couple, married from 1939 until Denison's death in 1998, performed in 26 stage productions together, including Candida and An Ideal Husband). Denison, who met his wife at the Webber-Douglas drama school in 1939, made his film debut that year, but it wasn't until the couple was first cast together in My Brother Jonathan (1948) that Denison's career took off. He appeared in a number of feature films, including The Magic Box (1951), The Importance of Being Earnest (1952) and Shadowlands (1993), as well as several TV movies and miniseries. Denison, who also guest starred on several TV shows, making his last appearance in a 1996 episode of Tales from the Crypt, had served in British intelligence during WWII. Denison and Gray were honored on an episode of This is Your Life in 1995. Fold along center. Left edge worn. Fine condition.
