English actor Michael Rennie (1909-1971) began his film career in 1936,
interrupting it for wartime service in the Royal Air Force. He really came into
his own in the 1950s, however. The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951), in
which space visitor Klaatu (Rennie) warns the earth against war, has become a
cult classic. He followed this performance with strong ones as Jean Valjean in Les
Miserables (1952) and in The Robe (1953). He starred as Harry Lime in the
British television series The Third Man (1959-1965) and guest starred in
many television dramas through the 1960s. Lightly toned and creased. Light
nicks in left and right edges. Folded twice and unfolded. Otherwise, fine
condition.
