In 1967, virtually unknown 25-year-old British actor Michael York was cast as Lucentio in TheTaming of the Shrew opposite Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor and Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet (1968). Over a 30-year span, York played key roles in adaptations (on the big screen and on TV) of such literary classics as Great Expectatrions, David Copperfield, Jesus of Nazareth (as John the Baptist), The Three Musketeers (as d'Artagnan), The Island of Dr. Moreau, Much Ado About Nothing, Lost Horizon, Murder on the Orient Express, all three Austin Powers films (as Basil Exposition), and The Omega Code and prequel (as the Anti-Christ). He has been a voice actor in many animated films. York graduated from Oxford University, to which he has promised his scripts, and was active in drama there. Fine condition.
