Inscribed photograph signed: "To Nancy Best Wishes/Michelle Phillips". Also signed on verso (unknown hand) "10/8/77/Malibu". Color, 3¼x4 overall, 3x3 image. Phillips, born Holly Michelle Gilliam in Long Beach, California in 1944, and her then husband John Phillips formed part of the highly successful rock quartet The Mamas and Papas (1965-1971), source of such late 1960s hits as California Dreamin' and Monday, Monday. After the group (as well as Michelle and John) broke up, Michelle chose to pursue an acting career. She received a Golden Globe award as new female actress of the year for Dillinger (1973). She became a regular on TV's Knot's Landing (1987-1991), singing This Is Dedicated to the One I Love, one of the big hits of the Mamas and Papas, in one episode. Lightly toned, otherwise in fine condition.
