Superb images of the Baseball Hall of Famers from New York City who roamed centerfield in the Bronx, Manhattan, and Brooklyn in the 1950s. MICKEY MANTLE (1931-1995), a New York Yankees slugger from 1951-1968, won the Triple Crown in 1956 and a World Series Grand Slam in 1953. The career batting average of the "Commerce Comet" was .298, and Mantle racked up 536 home runs and 1,509 career RBIs. WILLIE MAYS (born in 1931), a star on the New York/San Francisco Giants from 1951-1972, led the league in stolen base titles in 1956, 1957, 1958 and 1959. His career batting average was .302, and Mays hit 660 home runs and 1,903 career RBIs. EDWIN DONALD "DUKE" SNIDER (born in 1926), who played for the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers from 1947-1962, had a career batting average of .295 and hit 407 career homers and 1,333 RBIs. He led the league with 136 RBIs in 1955 and hit four home runs in the 1952 and 1955 World Series games. In 1963, Snider returned to New York City to play for the New York Mets. In 1964, Snider ended his career as Mays' teammate on the San Francisco Giants. Mays ended his career in New York City, playing for the 1972-1973 New York Mets. Fine condition.
