MAJOR LEAGUE GREATS
Eight former Major League stars of the 1940s through the 1970s have signed their images on an uncut set of eight Cracker Jacks baseball cards. Six of the eight are enshrined in the Hall of Fame.
Sports Card collection signed: "Mickey/Mantle", "Al Kaline", Tony Oliva", "Harmon Killebrew", "Bob Feller", "Whitey Ford", "Brooks/Robinson" and "Larry Doby", Color, 7½x10½. In all 8 signatures. Un-cut sheet of baseball cards, three rows of three cards each, with one spot taken by an advertisement for this Cracker Jack series of "All Time Baseball Greats". Brief player bios printed on verso. Each card shows the player in the uniform of the team with which he is most closely identified. Those teams, and the players' Hall of Fame admission years, follow: BOB FELLER (1962, Indians), WHITEY FORD and MICKEY MANTLE (1974, both Yankees), KALINE (1980, Tigers), BROOKS ROBINSON (1983, Orioles), and HARMON KILLEBREW (1984, Twins). Two signers are not in the Hall of Fame, but not for lack of talent. LARRY DOBY played most of his career in the Negro Leagues, before the color barrier came down, starring later for the Indians but not with enough seasons to qualify. TONY OLIVA of the Twins, seemed bound for the Hall until injuries hampered, and then cut short his career. A fine collection. Fine condition.
