MICKEY ROONEY, ANDY GRIFFITH, CONNIE STEVENS and JOHN DAVIDSON
Mickey Rooney, Andy Griffith, Connie Stevens, and John Davidson sign a black and white publicity photograph of them taking a curtain call.
Photograph signed: "Mickey/Rooney", "Andy/Griffith", "Love/Connie Stevens/1985" and "You're/Incredible/John/Davidson". B/w, 8x10. The four are shown taking a curtain call, along with Sammy Davis, Jr. (who did not sign). MICKEY ROONEY (1920-2014) was the son of vaudevillians who put him into their act when he was 15 months old. He debuted onscreen in the silent short Not to Be Trusted in 1926 at the age of six. In 1998, 72 years later, Rooney appeared in Babe: Pig in the City and a later film, The Fighting Temptations, was released in 2003. During the course of his career, Rooney received four Academy Award nominations: two for Best Actor (Babes in Arms, 1939; The Human Comedy, 1943) and two for Best Supporting Actor (The Bold and the Brave, 1956; The Black Stallion, 1979). He was awarded special Oscars in 1938 "for significant contribution in bringing to the screen the spirit and personification of youth, and as a juvenile player setting a high standard of ability and achievement" and in 1982 "in recognition of his 60 years of versatility in a variety of memorable film performances". Rooney, who also won a Golden Globe Best Actor award for his performance in the TV movie, Bill, starred in 16 films as Andy Hardy, the wise-cracking son of a small-town judge, from 1937 to 1958. He made his debut on Broadway in 1979, receiving a nomination for a Tony Award for Best Actor for the musical Sugar Babies. ANDY GRIFFITH (born in 1926) achieved his greatest success in the title roles of television's Andy Griffith Show (1960-1968) and Matlock (1986-1992), which first ran as a series and then as two-hour movie specials. Griffith was also a stage and film actor, appearing in such films as A Face in the Crowd (1957, his film debut), No Time For Sergeants (1958) and Angel in My Pocket (1969). He has also appeared in a number of made-for-television films, often shocking his fans with his atypical villainous roles. Versatile singer/actress CONNIE STEVENS' (born in 1938) successes include a #1 hit record, "16 Reasons" (1961), the role of bar singer Cricket Blake in the TV series Hawaiian Eye (1959-1963) and a variety of film roles, including Grease 2 (1982). Stevens has been married to and divorced from actor James Stacy (1963-1966) and singer/actor Eddie Fisher (1967-1969). She had two daughters with Fisher - actresses Joely Fisher (born in 1967) and Tricia Leigh Fisher (born in 1968). Singer JOHN DAVIDSON, born in 1941, is an American actor, singer and game show host who's probably best known for hosting That's Incredible! (1980-1984) as well as two game shows, The New Hollywood Squares (1986-1989) and a revival of The $100,000 Pyramid (1991-1992). Davidson, who received his start on the stage, has also appeared on Broadway, recorded 12 albums and acted on 30 TV shows and films. Ink lightly beaded in Stevens' date. Rooney has signed on dark suit, signature legible at angle. Fine condition.
