Signature: "Mike/ Antonovich" in red ink, 4x6. Magazine photo, b/w, 1¼x1¼, affixed toward
lower right edge. Mike Antonovich (b. 1951) was the 113th overall pick by the Minnesota
North Stars in the 1971 NHL draft. Antonovich ended up beginning his pro career with the
Minnesota Fighting Saints of the WHA. In fact, he spent the majority of his career in the
WHA, where he played for the Fighting Saints, the Edmonton Oilers, and the New
England Whalers. In the NHL, Antonovich played for the Minnesota North Stars and the
New Jersey Devils. In the 1976, 1977, and 1982 Ice Hockey World Championships he played
for team USA. Following his retirement from playing, Antonovich coached in the
International Hockey League and became a member of the amateur coaching staff of the
St. Louis Blues. In addition to his hockey-related occupations, Antonovich had a career in
politics; in 2008, he became the mayor of Coleraine, Minnesota. Toned, especially along
top edge. Faint staining and scuffing on front, not affecting signature. Otherwise, fine
condition.
