MIKE BOSSY
The Hall of Famer is shown playing against the St. Louis Blues in this 8½x10½ magazine photograph.
Magazine Photograph signed: "Mike/Bossy" in blue felt tip, Color 8½x10½. Canadian ice hockey star Mike Bossy, born in 1957, scored 500 goals in nine seasons, faster than any player before him, on his way to scoring a career total of 573 goals. Bossy played for five years in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League before being picked up by the New York Islanders in the 15th round of the 1977 NHL draft. He quickly proved himself to be a bargain, earning the Calder Memorial Trophy for the 1977-1978, the NHL version of Rookie of the Year, and scoring 53 goals in his first NHL season. Bossy was part of a dominant Islanders team that won the Stanley Cup four times and made it to the post-season every year of his career (1977-1987). A seven-time All-Star (1978 and 1980-1986), Bossy consistently placed in the NHL Top 10 for goals, goals per game, assists, points and points per game and led the NHL in goals (1978-1979 and 1980-1981), goals per game (1978-1979), goals created (1978-1979) and game-winning goals (1980-1981 and 1985-1986). He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1991. Three filing holes at right edge. Irregularly cut at bottom edge. Otherwise, fine condition.
