Autograph letter signed: "Mike Brown" in blue ink. 1 page, 5x7½. Rockville Centre, New York. In full: "Dear Sir, I am a High school student in my second year. For a school project I am trying to get a movie star pen-pal of equal age. So I saw a movie The New Kids and like it. Lori Laughlin who starred in it, I think I should write to her. Also for a different star, how about Eric Stoltz. I just want to tell you I enjoy your Screen World for its great amount of information. Sincerely". Post script: "If you could I would really like to write to Lori Laughlin". No other information on this signer has been found. John A. Willis (1916-2010), active in Theatre World from the beginning, became its chief editor in 1965, holding that position until 2008. Willis is regarded as one of the foremost theatre and film historians of the 20th century. While producing (and presenting) the annual Theatre World Awards, Willis also served on the nominating committee for the Tony Awards. Theatre World, which received its own Tony for Excellence in Theatre in 2001, continues under chief editor Ben Hodges. Normal mailing folds. Rounded edges. Light surface creases.
