Self-caricature signed: "Mike Ditka Hope you have a great
day. God Bless" on a 6x4 card. On his personal New Orleans Saints
letterhead. On the left he has sketched himself. Pro Football Hall of
Famer Mike Ditka (b.1939) was NFL Rookie of Year (1961) and five-time Pro
Bowl tight end for the Chicago Bears. As head coach of the Chicago Bears, he
won Super Bowl XX (1986). After leaving the Bears in 1992, he worked as a
broadcaster at NBC for four years. From 1997-1999, Ditka coached the New Orleans
Saints. Since his retirement, Ditka has continued as an NFL announcer and
correspondent, frequently seen on the NFL pregame show. In 2013, on a Monday
Night Football showdown between the Bears and the Cowboys, Chicago honored Mike
Ditka by retiring his jersey number 89. In a heartfelt speech, he praised
the spirit of Chicago and thanked all the fans of the organization, finishing
with an igniting roar, "Go Bears!" The Bears went on to defeat the Cowboys
45-28. Very slightly red stained. Overall, fine condition.
