MARK MOORE Signed cover commemorating Game 4 of the 1989 World Series, with cachet showing him pitching the Series-clinching game Commemorative Envelope signed: "Mike Moore PTL", 6½x3¾. Special cover marking the 1991 World Series, with color cachet of Moore pitching for the A's, postmarked World Series Station, San Francisco, California, October 28, 1989 (the date and place of the game), 25-cent Lou Gehrig stamp affixed. Billed in advance as "the Battle of the Bay," the 1991 World Series between the Oakland A's and San Francisco Giants, turned into "the Earthquake Series," with a 10-day delay between games 2 and 3. The A's swept the Series in 4 games; the Giants never leading in even one game. Mike Moore pitched for the Seattle Mariners (1982-1988), Oakland A's (1989-1992) and Detroit Tigers (1993-1995). Moore had his best year in 1991, going 19-11 and winning two games of the Series. (With the layoff for the earthquake, he was well rested.) The durable Moore led the AL in games started four times, and he was an All-Star in 1989. The devout Moore, a graduate of Oral Roberts University, typically added a Biblical quote or the phrase PTL ("praise the Lord") to his autographs. Lightly toned. Bottom right corner creases. Otherwise fine condition. Previously authenticated by JSA.
