MIKHAIL BARYSHNIKOV
A record album cover for the soundtrack to White Nights signed
by Baryshnikov
Record Album Cover signed: "M Baryshnikov". Color, 12½x12¼.
Original Motion Picture Soundtrack of White Nights. © 1985,
Columbia Pictures Industries, Inc. Record not included. The thin plot of this
film, co-starring Gregory Hines (not signing), was widely panned, but the
dancing and cinematography was universally praised. Mikhail
Baryshnikov (b. 1948), featured soloist of Leningrad's Kirov
Company, defected to the U.S. in 1974, joining the American Ballet and then
moving to the New York City Ballet. His first film, The Turning Point
(1977), was the most popular ballet movie since The Red Shoes
(1948). His popular ABC TV special, Baryshnikov on Broadway
(1980), reflected his lifelong love of American musicals. Lightly creased
and scuffed. Otherwise, fine condition.
