contract for an appearance on the Perry Como Show.
Document signed: "Milburn Stone", 1 page, 8½x11. Beverly Hills,
California, 1961 March 31. Stone signs acceptance of a documentary letter
from Roncom Productions, Inc., stating minor revisions to the terms of his March
13 contract for an appearance on The Perry Como Show, to be recorded 1961
April 14 for broadcast on April 19. Milburn Stone (1904-1980), a former
vaudevillian who made his film debut in 1934 in Burn 'Em Up Barnes, is
best known for his role as Dr. Galen "Doc" Adams in the long-running Western,
Gunsmoke (1955-1975). In 1968, he won the Emmy for Outstanding
Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Drama (Gunsmoke
episode "Baker's Dozen") and he was also nominated for a Golden Globe in
1971 for his role as "Doc". Only Stone and James Arness, who starred as
Marshall Matt Dillon, remained in the cast for the show's entire twenty seasons
(approximately 500 episodes). Lightly creased. Paperclip impression in upper
