Watson (b. 1940) is credited in many television shows, making his debut in an episode of
Gunsmoke in 1968. He went on to appear in feature films like Papillon (1973) and Cujo
(1983). He's best known for his role as Deputy Sheriff Perkins in B. J. and the Bear
(1978-1981) and The Misadventures of Sheriff Lobo (1979). Before these roles as deputy to
Claude Akins, he had been comic sidekick to another sheriff (played by Stacy Keach) in the
Cheech and Chong film Up in Smoke (1978). Watson retired to an Oregon ranch in 1992.
