MILLVINA DEAN Hand print of the last Titanic survivor, who died in 2009 Hand Print signed: "Millvina Dean", 7½x10. Ink tracing of her left hand. Millvina Dean (1912-2009) was the youngest passenger aboard the Titanic, and is now the last survivor of its ill-fated voyage. Dean was a 3rd Class passenger, accompanying her father mother and 2-year old brother, who intended to emigrate from Britain to the United States. Her father got the other three aboard Lifeboat #10, one of the first boats to leave the ship; he himself was lost at sea. Returned to England with her mother and brother, Millvina Dean learned at age 8 that she had been a Titanic passenger. Eventually she became active in Titanic conventions and other events. The director and co-stars of the recent film Titanic (James Cameron, Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet) established the Millvina Fund to raise money for her medical expenses. Having survived many of her fellow passengers by nearly a century, Millvina Dean died on May 31, 2009. Minor smudges. Fine condition.
