Mitch Kapor (b. 1950) is the founder of Lotus Development Corporation,
the co-founder of Electronic Frontier Foundation, and the first chairman of the
Mozilla Foundation. He began his career in technology as head of
development for VisiCorp, a computer software publisher. He eventually left
VisiCorp to found Lotus Development Corporation, designing the spreadsheet
program Lotus 1-2-3, which was one of the first popular applications for IBM
PC's. Most recently, Kapor served on the Board of Directors for Linden
Lab, the creator of the popular virtual reality game Second Life.
