The actress signs a 5x4 album leaf "To Arnold"
Inscribed signature: "To Arnold -/Mitzi/Gaynor", 5x4 yellow album leaf taped to 5½x4½ sheet. Magazine photograph, b/w, 1½x1½, affixed at lower right margin above printed (unknown hand) name. Dated (unknown hand) at upper left: "1979". Signature of Harvey Weil and pencil notes (unknown hand) on verso. A professional dancer from age 12, Mitzi Gaynor (b. 1931), who starred in a series of film musicals beginning with My Blue Heaven (1950), is best known for her role as Nellie Forbush in the screen version of South Pacific (1958). Much of her best work was done on stage, however, where she sang and danced opposite such male legends as Bing Crosby, Donald O'Connor, Frank Sinatra and Gene Kelly. Gaynor, who was a frequent TV guest, also starred in several specials of her own. Tape touches the "M" and upper loop of the "t" in Mitzi and one word of writing as well as date and lower portion of photograph. Irregularly cut, binding holes at blank left margin of signature sheet. Mounting sheet is lightly soiled, torn at left edge. Otherwise, fine condition.
