MOLLY BROADWAY CAST: KAYE BALLARD and ELI MINTZ Kaye Ballard and Eli Mintz sign a show bill cover for their play Molly. Show Bill Cover signed: "Love & Peace/Kay Ballard/X" and "Good luck/Eli Mintz". (Ballard sometimes writes her name without a final "e", as she has here.) 5½x9 cover of "Playbill" magazine, Alvin Theatre, no date, for the theatrical performance of Molly, with a reproduced caricature of Ballard by Al Hirschfeld. The musical Molly, with BALLARD in the starring role, ran on Broadway in November and December, 1973.  Singer-comedian Ballard (1925-2019) appeared from the late 1940s with the bands of Spike Jones, Vaughan Monroe and Stan Kenton. She took the Broadway stage for such hits as Oklahoma and Carousel, as well as two one-woman shows. Her starring TV roles included Mothers-In-Law (1967) and The Doris Day Show (1970-1971). She has appeared in the occasional film from The Girl Most Likely (1957) to Fate (1990). Polish-born actor MINTZ (1905-1988) came to the U.S. in 1927, establishing himself in the Yiddish theater. He had a special attachment to the role of Uncle David, which he played in Molly and which he had played in the antecedent (early 1950s) play, film and TV series, The Goldbergs. Irregular left edge. Lightly spotted. Ink notes on verso (no show through).
