MOLLY PICON The stage and screen actress signed this index card in blue ink Signature: "Peace/ Molly Picon/ 1983". "Peace" translated from Hebrew. Includes a smiley face in the "P" of her surname. 5x3 index card. Molly Picon (1898-1992) who was sometimes called the "Jewish Charlie Chaplin" or the "Jewish Helen Hayes", was the pre-eminent actress in Yiddish theater in the U.S. On vaudeville since age five, she starred in stage, radio, television, and film for seven decades. She was nominated for a Tony as Best Actress in a Musical for Milk and Honey (1962). The following year, she performed in her first English-speaking role in Come Blow Your Horn. Picon, who has a Broadway theatre named in her honor, also wrote some 100 songs and skits for her shows. Her screen credits include The Cannonball Run (1981) and Come Blow Your Horn (1963). Lightly toned. Note on verso in unknown hand. Otherwise, fine condition.
