MONA LESLLIE The performer handwrites and signs this letter to a fan describing her goals to become an actress and thanking him for his compliments Autograph letter signed: “Mona Lesllie” in green ink. 2 pages, 6x9½. December 7, 1933. Written on letterhead of The Biltmore Hotel to “Dear Edward Barry” in full: “With this letter you will find the picture and autograph you requested. I wish to thank you for the lovely compliments and the appreciation you showed for my work. I am well pleased also to know you enjoyed the entire show and I do hope that someday I shall return to St. Louis as myself in another individual act. The gold dancing is interesting for a time but becomes quite a grind after awhile so it is very hard work- I hope someday to become a legitimate actress in some large production or to become famous as a commercial artist which is also one of my ambitions and professions. Thanking you again and wishing you my best wishes and all the success possible in whatever vocation may be yours. I remain, Sincerely yours”. Mona Lesllie was a performer in the 1930s, possibly for a group or production called the golden dancers. Signer merits further research. Lightly toned. Normal mailing folds. Otherwise, fine condition.
