tribe./Montague Glass/January 30th 1930", 7¾x10¼. English-born American
Jewish author Montague Glass (1877-1934) proved so successful as a
short story writer that he abandoned a career in the law. Soon, with a series of
co-authors, he was adapting his stories for stage and film. His best known
creation was a pair of comic Jewish business partners, Abe Potash and Morris
Perlmutter. In Hollywood with Potash and Perlmutter, produced by
Samuel Goldwyn in 1924, was the first film to focus on the Jewish role in the
movie industry. One horizontal and two vertical fold. Slightly toned. Mounting
residue on verso (no show through). Ink note (unknown hand) at bottom margin.
