Accompanied by: Original mailing envelope from Hale's personalized stationery. With foil sticker affixed in bottom left corner, captioned: "Shoot Low!/they might be/CRAWLIN'" with facsimile signature. Postmarked Santa Barbara, California, Aug. 8, 1984. Addressed to Mr. Todd Axelrod, American Museum of Historical Documents, Las Vegas, Nevada. With seven American stamps affixed. Lightly toned and creased. Normal postal stamps. Adhesive residue on sticker. Cut open at right edge. Comes folded once. One of Republic Pictures' singing cowboys, Hale, (1919-2009), had supporting roles in Westerns starring Roy Rogers and Sunset Carson before starring in his own series of films in the late 1940s. Later he toured with the band of singing cowboy composer Ray Whitley. He's a member of the Western Music Association Hall of Fame. Two items.
