Autograph Note signed: "To David Wood/Best Wishes/Montie
Montana" at upper portion and "Montie Montana" at lower
margin, 5x8 sheet. Western showman and trick roper Montie Montana
(1910-1998) appeared in Wild West shows, parades and rodeos and on radio,
television and the big screen. His feature film credits include Circle
of Death (1935), Down Dakota Way (1949), The Man Who Shot Liberty
Valance (1962), Hud (1963) and Arizona Bushwackers (1967, his
final film). Best known for his personal appearances, Montana lassoed
President Eisenhower at his 1953 inaugural ceremonies and rode in Pasadena's
Tournament of Roses Parade for 60 consecutive years. Pinhead sized spot in
upper left corner. Fine condition.
