Written on letterhead of Our Lady of Grace Monastery to "Dear Mr. Sobol", in full: "Please
forgive the delay in sending you the account of the contributions sent us by your readers. It
was my full intention to write a week ago but all our Sisters, with few exceptions have been
having the flu, so I am sure you will understand. You will be as delighted as we to know that
in the space of a month exactly, after your article appeared, your readers sent us the
enormous sum of $5019.07! And since then we have continued to receive mail daily from
them to the amount of $280 more. It is surely a great testimony of their esteem of you as well
as their own wonderful spirit of charity and sacrifice. Be sure of our continued good wishes
and eternal gratitude. You will be hearing from us again. Devotedly and gratefully yours".

further research. Lightly toned. Corners rounded. Normal mailing folds. Lightly soiled. Pencil
note (unknown hand) near top of letter. Date stamp on front. Otherwise, fine condition.
